Part of creating a successful business is making sure it runs as efficiently as possible. And this means finding the best business products and services out there to support you.

We’ve compiled a list of the tools we use, allowing us to spend less time on administration and more time running our business. After endless hours researching and using different products over the years, hopefully this list of business resources will save you time and hassle.

FreeAgent Accounting Software

We use this to manage our accounts, cash flow, invoicing, bills, expenses, payroll, projects and more. FreeAgent is great for small business owners and solo entrepreneurs. We've found it incredibly easy to use, simple to navigate and the support team is first class - plus it's regularly updated and useful new features added. The mobile app is also ideal if you need to access your accounts on the go. And if you're a NatWest customer, you can get FreeAgent for free. (We don't receive any commission on this one, we just genuinely find FreeAgent accounting software incredibly valuable to our business.)

Hiscox Business Insurance

Hiscox has insurances for a wide range of business types and their policies seem to be pretty broad too; these include professional indemnity, public liability, legal cover, employers liability, cyber and data as well as personal accident cover. You can find more on the Hiscox website.

Small Business Legal Academy

The Small Business Legal Academy is run by city ex-lawyer Suzanne Dibble with over 100 legal documents that you need for your business. There are loads of trainings too, including checklists and factsheets to keep you on the right track. Suzanne is also a GDPR expert and has a GDPR Compliance Pack which is incredibly useful and provides all the documents and guides to help you get a handle on what you need to do. She's also the lady behind GDPR for Dummies which is a great guide to have by your side.

eUKhost Hosting Provider

We've been with eUKhost for several years and find their support team very helpful - for us this is critically important given the only time we really need to get in contact is when things are not working! Thankfully, this isn't very often and usually a result of our experimentation and testing. They're really knowledgeable and will take the time to explain things. The ability to access support through chat as well as phone is great, and works best for us. They've got WordPress hosting at reasonable prices to get you up and running with plenty of options to scale as your business grows.

pCloud

pCloud is an encrypted cloud storage provider for all your files and backups. You can also share your business documents, set up file requests, stores sensitive documents in the Crypto feature and more. Team and individual access levels plus monitoring features are also available should you need them. There's basically everything you need to store, sync and collaborate with your business colleagues, clients and other third parties.

Google Workspace

Everyone's familiar with Google. And Google Workspace is worthy of the small investment for your business. You'll be able to set it up for your business email address and have access to all the office tools you're likely to need - documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more. It's also really easy to learn and use and you can edit documents while offline. You also get more Drive space than the free version. Google Workspace is ideal when you're working remotely and collaborating with clients, colleagues and other business owners on documents.

Envato Market

WordPress is still one of the most popular content management systems for building a website - and there's certainly many WordPress themes to choose from here. With Envato Market you can check the reviews for each of the sellers as well as view demos and screenshots to see what's the best website template for your business.
